What changes when you choose InCommon
Setting up a GCC in India usually means juggling an incorporation lawyer, a recruiter, a coworking broker and a payroll vendor, along with keeping all four moving in the right order yourself. A delayed handoff, a missed renewal, or a question that falls between vendors can slow the whole setup down.
InCommon brings the work under one team, covering incorporation, hiring, workspace, payroll and the day-to-day work that keeps everything moving. One team is responsible for the setup, and there's one place to go when something needs attention.
The result is fewer handoffs and less for you to manage. Our goal is straightforward: get your India team seated and ready to work.
What InCommon Handles
Entity setup
We take your entity from incorporation to operational readiness, managing the statutory registrations and filings required along the way. This gives your team a compliant legal entity that is ready to hire, operate and scale in India.
MD hiring
We identify, vet and shortlist the managing director who will lead your India center. Candidates come from people already running India centers, with the final interview conducted by someone who has held the role.
Team hiring
We build the delivery team beneath the managing director, from sourcing and vetting through onboarding. Each pod is senior-led and cross-functional, with the team aligned to your engineering leadership from day one.
Workspace
We set up a managed office space and fit it around the needs of your team. We work with providers such as WeWork and Indiqube, choosing the location and setup around your hiring and operating plans. Your team has a fully operational workspace from day one.
IT
We set up and manage the local IT infrastructure your team needs to operate securely from day one. This covers devices, endpoint management, VPN and network, SSO and identity, asset management, backup and recovery. Along with offboarding handled through a defined return and wipe process.
Benefits and support
We manage the ongoing operational and compliance requirements that keep your India entity running smoothly. This includes payroll, benefits administration, accounting, statutory and labour law compliance, audit support and annual filings, supported by monthly reviews and accessible dashboards.

Your India GCC, Your way.
You can build your India GCC by incorporating your own entity, which takes about 12 weeks from kickoff and gives you a wholly owned subsidiary before hiring finishes. Or you can start under InCommon’s India entity through an employer-of-record arrangement, at $250 per employee per month.
Hiring can begin the same week, with no wait for incorporation. Podifi used this route to get 9 engineers live in 6 weeks.
The process itself is three steps regardless of route. First, you align on commercials and sign the agreement. Then, we run a planning consultation covering team structure, salary bands, location and workspace. Finally, we kickoff and execute.
Which route you choose usually comes down to your timeline and whether you want to own the entity outright from day one.
The InCommon Advantage
The Better Hack
A hackathon series we run with Google Cloud and WeWork Labs, in Pune and Bengaluru. Over 1,000 people apply each edition. Fewer than 2% get a seat. Everyone who does builds for 24 hours, while we watch how they actually work.
The GCC Leaders' Breakfast
A closed-door table for people already running an India center, held every 6 to 8 weeks. Members advise on new build-outs, and in some cases go on to run one. It is the room where India center heads are found, and we convene it.
Every GCC matters
At an enterprise GCC builder, a Series B company is a small account among thousands, staffed accordingly. Here, it's the entire business. A nine-person GCC gets the same attention as a sixty-person one.
The InCommon Hiring Approach
Sourcing
We reach beyond whoever applies to access the wider talent market. Our network includes more than 700 people with experience building and running India teams, alongside referrals, direct outreach and other sourcing channels.
Screening
We agree on what a strong candidate looks like before sourcing begins, then screen every profile against a written scorecard covering role, experience and capability, rather than a list of tools copied from someone else's job description.
Interviewing
Candidates are vetted by people who have built and run teams themselves, in a 45-minute interview focused on technical depth, ownership and fit. About 33% of the profiles we send are ultimately hired.
Offer
Offers are built around whether this person will accept, and succeed in your company, team and stage, not just whether they can do the work. Each hire sharpens that picture, so by the fifth hire, sourcing runs on an informed profile rather than a guess.
Curated Network
An invite-only network of senior engineering, operations and go-to-market professionals, each vouched for by an existing member. Every new build is briefed to the network, and members are paid for referrals they would work with again.
Candidate Guarantee
Every candidate we place carries a six-month replacement guarantee. That's long enough to know whether the hire is right, and short enough that we don't wait around if it isn't.
Evidence, not just claims.

Real teams. Real results.
InCommon didn't push us toward a default setup. We had specific requirements about the team's workspace and how they'd plug into our tooling and process, and they built to all of it. The team in India works the way we work.

Aniruddha Kukday
CTO, Accompany Health
Our bar was awkward: we were building from scratch in automotive, so every hire had to pick up a domain nobody comes ready-made for. InCommon still found us strong engineers, fast. And most are still here.

Soumya Sengupta
Director of Engineering, Veramatic
Fast usually means sloppy. This didn't. The people InCommon brought over knew what each role needed, and the candidates matched, so we hired quickly without giving up on quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't we do this ourselves?
You can, and some companies do. The difference is the time and infrastructure it takes to build the same hiring and operating capability yourself. InCommon brings an established talent network, specialist sourcing channels and relationships with people already running India centers, alongside one accountable partner for entity setup, hiring and operations. You get access to candidates and expertise that would otherwise take years to build internally.
Isn't this just outsourcing?
No. The key difference is who owns and directs the team. Your Indian entity belongs to you, and your employees report directly to your engineering leadership from day one. InCommon handles the setup, hiring and operational support, while your team remains fully integrated into your organisation and works against your roadmap.
How do we know the candidates will be any good?
InCommon's hiring approach is designed to assess candidates against the requirements of your specific team, not to simply fill roles from a database. Candidates are vetted before they reach your panel, and the final interview is conducted by someone with experience running an India center. Around 33% of the candidates we shortlist are ultimately hired, and every hire comes with a six-month replacement guarantee.
What does a GCC build with InCommon cost?
The cost depends on the size and seniority of your team. Entity setup, workspace and ongoing compliance are relatively fixed costs, while recruitment and payroll scale with headcount. Rather than apply a standard rate card that may not reflect your requirements, we build the cost around your roles, team size and operating model. We can walk you through the expected costs for your specific build, including the one-time setup costs and ongoing operating costs.
What happens when the roles we need change?
InCommon's GCC model is designed to adapt as your roadmap changes. Teams are built in senior-led, cross-functional groups that can be shaped around the skills your business needs at each stage. As your requirements evolve, the team can grow, change composition or add new capabilities without requiring you to rebuild the operating model from scratch.
How is this different from an offshore development center run by a vendor?
An offshore development center typically means the vendor employs and manages the team on your behalf. With InCommon, the Indian entity and the team belong to you, and the team reports directly into your leadership. InCommon provides the hiring, workspace, IT and operational support needed to build and run the center, while you retain control of the people, priorities and work.
